Movie Review: The Lookout

Ok guys, one of my favorite movies from last year. Surprisingly not a whole lot of ppl saw or heard about The Lookout. Its a definite steal if you can find this movie cheap.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Chris, a promising high school hockey player, who on prom night gets a little wild with his friends and they have a very serious car accident. The accident leaves Chris with severe brain damage and he has trouble remember the most simple things. So he carries around a notepad and writes everything down. His life has spiraled downward and now he is living with his blind friend Lewis, played by Jeff Daniels (great job), and gets money from his rich father.

Chris can't have a real job so he works as a night time janitor for a bank in the middle of nowhere. Simple things for his struggling, simple mind. He meets a guy named Gary at a bar that basically befriends him and promises him everything that he has lost. A girl, friends, money. Sooner or later Gary tells him that him and his friends are gonna rob a bank. Chris realizes that that's what he is there for, a way in. Chris hesitates until Gary gives him a short talk about how Chris could be independent if he had his own money. Chris agrees to help them.

During the robbery, Chris' conscience kicks in and the meat of the movie ensues.

The Lookout is a great movie for those who have not seen it. For everyone reading this, take my advice and at least see this movie once.

It's funny you made a post about this movie, I was looking at it at work the other day for a bit. Looked good then, sounds even better now.

This is one of the movies that we always had previews on the wall to attach to films, but, I had no idea what they were.

Now sounds intriguing, though.
