New Job Info And Need Advice
Ok I need some opinions. I'm looking into a new mp3 player. Tiffany has said that if I pick one out she will get it for me..maybe for Christmas. I want the 120g of whatever I get. I'm looking into the 120g Ipod Classic and the 120g Zune player. I'm not sure which one to get, I've looked them both up and its really split down the middle. Any advice guys? Pros and Cons, anything. Thanks.

DVD Update
It may come as no surprise to some that my DVD collection is diversifying. Now that little Piper is here I have been interested in finding movies for her. So you will now see that there will be more of a emphasis on finding and buying animated and cartoon movies. But DAMN they are usually really high.
I ordered 3 dvd's off the Internet and am waiting for them to get here.
They are:
- Memento - God I have heard so much about Memento. Directed by Christopher Nolan, who directed the latest Batman movies. Anyone seen it? If so don't tell me anything about it but is it good?
- O' Brother Where Art Thou? - LOVE this movie. Glad to add it to my collection.
- Ice Age - A favorite of mine in the animated movies. Woot..
Other movies that I do have now are
- American History X - Honestly have never seen this entirely through. But I love everything I have seen.
- The Other Boleyn Girl - Tiffany loves this movie. Not my favorite but actually not to bad.
- Porky's - Can you believe I have never seen this? Eh found it dirt cheap so that's good.
- Stop-Loss - Always looked good, hope it is.
- Hot Fuzz - Heard it's funny.....yea that's all I got.
- Children Of Men - Looks awesome, I like Clive Owen as well.
- AVP - Never seen this. Is it cheesy?
- Shrek - Funny
- Monster House - Always looked interesting, hope its good.
- Wild Hogs - Was really cheap in a brand new box so I got it.
- A.I. Artificial Intelligence - Never seen it. Alot of ppl are split down the middle with this one.
- Vanilla Sky - Movie was never on my radar until recently, looks interesting.
- Indiana Jones and the Raiders Of The Lost Ark - Honestly... I'm embarrassed to say I have never seen any of these movies all the way through. I love them though. I wanted to get the pack with all the movies but I thought it would be cheaper to just get them separately, oh well.
- The Princess Bride - Classic
- Mission Impossible - Been looking for this one.
- Private Parts - Really funny, its Howard Stern.
- Frailty - If you have not seen this, watch it. Very cool.
- Alpha Dog - Dunno if it's good. Oh Well.
- The Break-Up - Tiffany has wanted this, looks funny.
As always if you guys want a review, let me know. Am I behind on reviews? If anyone has asked for one please catch me up.
Note: I have been interested in the movie Requiem for a Dream. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks

Cloverfield.......Honestly
First off I have been asking myself maybe I should watch the movie again by myself, giving it another chance to sink in...maybe a little differently. Now I'm not one to really pick movies apart unless there are so many farfetche'd things going on. And while watching Cloverfield I could not seem to shut up. I was sighing, scoffing, and laughing during unlaughable times.
Likes:
Now I'll admit, the simple premise of a huge monster terrorizing Manhattan was pretty damn cool. Also the other selling point was that it was made as a home video. Now the shaky camera didn't bother much at all, but what I thought made it interesting was that by using a handheld camera it made the movie, the experience, and the monster seem like a reality show. Didn't seem ya know...prepared, or staged. And that was a big plus. The movie did have quite a few good laughs and that was good.
Dislikes:
I had a lot of things get under my skin. First off, the monster itself. Totally generic, it didn't pop. Plain but still reasonable cool. But when I did see the creature I was like, "Oh, that's it?" Secondly, I don't know how big Manhattan is personally but I hated how the story followed 4 people on this big island and everywhere they seemed to go, the monster was right there around them. Thirdly, I hated the smaller creatures that fell off the big one. Seemed to me like they were just thrown into the movie so you could not ask the question, "Why can't they just go into the subway and wait it out?." And after a while it seemed that the main, giant creature was only the second most dangerous creature. The characters had to worry more about the little guys that the big daddy. I hated that the monster is Huge and yet for most of the movie you get tiny glimpses of it. In the end you do get a few really good shots but like I said, the creature still did not impress me much. Also I just could not stop comparing the movie to the plot of Godzilla, not necessarily the Godzilla movies themselves. The ending left me wanting more of an explanation but that as not too much of a problem to me.
In the end, I'm still glad I own the movie. It was in the least still entertaining. And it was a decent watch, I didn't hate it but so many annoying things always popped into my head. I'm usually an advocate of telling people to just watch the movie, go with it, don't ask too many questions and just enjoy it, but with Cloverfield something was off to me. I will definitely give it another shot because everyone else seemed to enjoy it so maybe I'm being too harsh.

DVD Update
Went into Blockbusters because I had a few coupons and found 4 movies.
Sideways - Not a newer movie. About 2 guys on a road trip to wine country. Tried watching this a few years ago and hated it. I've heard really good things about it so I decided to give it another shot.
Million Dollar Baby - Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman. Excited to see this one, looks interesting and won quite a few awards. We will see.
Before The Devil Knows Your Dead - Know nothing about this, looks good, has a good cast, only 2.99, what the hell, right?
The Bank Job - Jason Statham in a action movie....need I say more? Looked like another generic Bank Heist movie but I have heard it's actually a great movie.
Well there ya go, I have been planning on making a blog of DVD's I have always wanted that I just can't find. I may put that together. I'd also be interested in everyone else's "Wanted" DVD list.

DVD Update
Lets Start with the game. I went ahead and found Madden 08 for only 10 bucks, and Tiff's brother has it so I bought it so we could play, not knowing the next damn day he bought 09, but oh well. Its good to have a nice variety of different games for my 360.
Next is the 5$ movie rack at Wal-Mart. I have said it a thousand times and I truly believe it, that our Wal-Mart has the best selection of 5$ movies I have heard of or ever seen. It's amazing the quality of movies in that bin (actually its a four sided shelf), but everywhere it's different.
So I bought 2 movies out of the 5$ bin
- Fargo - Made from the Coen brothers who made No Country. My parents used to rave about this movie so I'm excited to see it.
- Men of Honor -(Cuba Gooding Jr., Robert De Niro). This movie is so underrated, our walmart has like an entire shelf of this movie so I guess no one buys it but it is a really good movie. Check this one out.
Gamestop (Buy 2 get 3 free). So I really did not want to get five movies here but Tiffany found a really good movie that we both have been looking for. The only bad thing is that its not worth it to just get one movie when you can get 5 for the price of 3 so I forced myself to find 4 others.
- Titanic - This is not my favorite movie but it's ok, the thing that excited me the most was the AMAZING box it came in. It looks like a book, its huge. So thats a plus.
- Once Upon A Time In Mexico - Never seen this, loved Desperado so had to get the next movie. Johnny Depp in it is just a plus. Thought it was odd that the spine of the movie did not have the movie title on it, had never seen that before. Then realized I bought a DVD without the sleeve which pissed me off. Note on the sleeve later.
- Ultraviolet - Always looked interesting, never was a must have for me but needed to find movies so this was the next one. Hope it's good.
- Phantom of the Opera - This was for Tiffany. She has wanted it for a long time so no brainer there.
- L.A. Confidential - Heard a lot of good things about it, I have high expectations for it, so hope it does not disappoint.
Flea Market. I get alot of movies at the flea market. You can find really rare movies for dirt cheap. Alot of the DVD's I buy are only 5$ and whats so great about them compared to Walmart is that they have so many more movies to choose from. Only downside is that its only open on Saturday and Sunday.
- Wildfire Season 1 - All for Tiffany. She loves this show. I believe its the best buy out of all my new movies. An entire season for 5 bucks. Can't beat that. I'm curious to watch it as well.
- Apocalypse Now - So called greatest war movie ever. Very excited to watch it. Not a huge war movie fan but seems like I always hear the name of this movie so could not pass it up.
- Signs - Have this on VHS but have always wanted it on DVD. Great, great movie. Prolly one of the reasons we all still go see M. Night's sub par movies in theaters.
- Predator - Love this movie, surprised I didn't have it. Easy choice.
- Se7en - Gosh the hype on this movie, I really am glad I found it. Been looking for it everywhere. I'm sure it will be great from all I've heard from it. GREAT BOX as well.
- Monster's Ball - Ever since the Joker I have been fascinated with Heath Ledgers past projects so saw this one. Honestly never heard of it but looks pretty good.
- V for Vendetta - Heard this was the best of the V for Vendetta, Ultraviolet, and Aeonflux movies, so got it.
Game King (Found the COMPLETE Once Upon A Time In Mexico here and asked the clerk if there was someway I could buy just the sleeve to the movie. Really wierd question. Anyways he was really cool and just gave me the sleeve for free so Hells Yea.)
- Talledega Nights - Needed a good laugh and have been keeping a eye out for this one.
- Jeepers Creepers - Just a really cool movie, glad to add it to my collection.
Blockbusters
- Rendition - Looked really good, anyone know anything let me know.
- Fracture - Also looked cool, one of the only movies I have ever bought that I didn't know a single thing about.
- The Hammer - Honestly always looked silly but I remember hearing that it was actually quite good so for 2.99 not much of a risk.
- There Will Be Blood - Always looked for this movies to drop in price and finally found it for 4.99 so scooped it up.
- Atonement - This is one of those movies that I have seen sit and sit on the shelf telling me to buy it and I finally caved. Looks like it has potential.
- Water Horse: Legend of the Deep - Tiffany always thought this looked cute so I picked it up for her.
- In Bruges - Another movie that I knew nothing about, seemed like I had seen it on someones top 10 of the year list so I risked it.
Video/Video. (Buy 2 get 1 free). This is a place I never go into, its honestly kinda nasty inside and never really had much but had not been in there in probably 5 years so stopped in there to see what they had.
- X-Men - I have the 3rd one and am one step closer to completing the trilogy. Not much to say....its the X-Men....its awesome.
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - God finally. The only Harry Potter movie I didn't have on DVD. It's always like 10 dollars and thats too damn much. 5 bucks here.
- Freedom Writers - Sixty congrats. You first movie you reviewed that really effected a purchase. Based buying this solely on your review. Good job.
Wal-Mart
- Will Smith Collection. This came with I, Robot and Independence Day. GREAT, GREAT buy.
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail - LOVE, LOVE this movie. Finally found it for a reasonable price. LOVE this movie.
So thats it. As always, want a review let me know.

DVD Update
Note: How about some participation, eh? Ok so me and Tiff have somewhat of a conundrum. Since Piper will be here any day and we are both movie freaks, we have just assumed that Piper will be one too. So my question to you is...What should be her first movie? Now we have been debating on what will be her first. Should it be the old favorites? Like The Lion King or Aladdin? Or the slightly newer Toy Story or maybe the newest Finding Nemo or Ratatouille? What are your opinions on the issue? Feel free to give us your first if you know.

It's The Strangest Thing...
Ok so we went to the hospital at 11:30 this morning. We spent all day waiting and waiting trying to anticipate when they would call us back. It was going so, SO slow but I knew that once they finally called us back that things would start to snowball and would happen much more quickly. So the reason she needed a C-section is because she was still breached (head up, butt down). The bad part about a C-section is a couple things. First, it leaves a scar, second, its still a surgery, and lastly, its an extra 20 grand to have one.....yea.
Well we waited from 11:30 until about 5 or so and the doctor finally came in. This is finally it right? .....No. He did a final ultrasound to make sure she was still breached and low and behold, she turned. The doctor said it was only the 3rd time in 15 years that a baby had turned within 3 days.
So....they sent us home. Yea, all the stress and agony of waiting and after all that, no baby. No Piper. Well what pissed me off is that I thought they should have given her a ultrasound that morning and then we would not have had to wait all day. Seemed kinda pointless to have had to wait. Anyways. everyone agreed that natural childbirth would be the way to go.
So now we wait, and wait until nature runs its course. So I'm totally deflated. I was so in the zone of expecting that the next time I came home, I would not be alone. But what do ya do? Oh well? So I'll continue to keep ya posted.

So This Is It...
Note: I experimented with a music player that I can add some new music to every few days. I seem to be able to add only 10 songs to the playlist which sucks so if anyone knows have to add more please let me know. If the player ends up being more of an annoyance tell me. I do this for you guys.

So there they are. Just so you know the cd that I most regret buying is Dragonforce, I really got dragged into their hype and they DO NOT do it for me. The cd that was the most worth my money was honestly Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory. Its not my favorite cd but without buying that cd I would not be listening to what I do now. They are not nearly as hard as what I listen to now but that cd built that bridge that brought the heavy music into my life.
If anyone wants a review on an entire cd let me know. That would be a good change of pace. Let me know.

Terminator 2 : Judgement Day - I have been looking for the terminator movies and finally found this one. I hate to get movies out of order but I could not find the first one so oh well. Came in a hella cool box to so I'm happy.
Wild Things - I can honestly say that I have never seen this movie straight though so I'm excited to see it now.
Syriana - I usually know a little about a movie that I buy, but with Syriana with George Clooney I have no idea about it at all. Hope its good.
Shaun of the Dead - Never seen this as well but ppl rave about how funny it is so I could not pass it up.
Note: Tiffany bought 3 movies as well Brokeback Mountain (actually a really enjoyable movie), Swinfan, and You, Me & Dupree.

DVD Update.....Finally
So today I went and splurged a little and bought 8 dvds.
First off I bought
- The Illusionist - Ed Norton and Jessica Biel. I've heard VERY good things about this movie so I'm excited to watch it. I bought the dvd and got home and the damn thing was not in the box so I had to go back to the store and they replaced it, then after I left I found a tear on the box.....which really, REALLY bugs me. Oh well.
- Eastern Promises - Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts. This movie has sit in Blockbusters for a couple months begging me to buy it and I finally caved. Fingers crossed.
- Vanishing Point - 5 dollar rack and wal-mart. I think it has a big car chase scene or something....? Dunno. Stepdad said it was ok so I got it.
- Secondhand Lions - Never seen it but heard it was good. Not much else I know about it.
- Disturbia - Really enjoyed this movie. I really like Shia Labeouf (sp?) as a young, rising actor.
- The Backwoods - Gary Oldman. Stars the guy who is the police chief in the new Batman movies. Looked interesting.
- Gone Baby Gone - Ben Affleck's directorial debut. Not a fan of Ben's at all but heard great things about this movie and have had my eye out for it for awhile.
- Cloverfield - I was torn about buying this because I've heard alot of good things, but for some reason I get a few nagging people telling me it was not good. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it so I'm glad I got it.
Note: I know this is really late Sixty but I figured out something I hate in movies today. I hate the shooting in movies. It's so fake to see where actors are running and bullets are going everywhere but into the characters. I know you have to have some action but sometimes it really, really bugs me when bullets are spraying everywhere but where they are "supposed" to be going. Who knew that so many ppl where horrible shots?

First Baby Class
It's been the last 7 months like we were playing house and buying things for a little baby, but lately it's really setting in that we will be bringing a little girl home so it's pretty scary.
Interesting note: Our small little town had a Ricin scare at a local prison and at the hospital. Ricin if you don't know is kinda like Anthrax but from what I have been told is in a paste form. But anyway someone sent an inmate that was no longer a inmate a letter with some of the Ricin laced in it and got 12 prisoners got really sick and the hospital where my dad works went on total lockdown. Pretty kick ass.
Guys I need some new music suggestions. Music is a key thing in my life and I need some new variety.
I listen to Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Chevelle, Project 86, 12 Stones, Incubus, Stone Sour, Godsmack, Megadeth, Staind, The White Stripes, and for some reason I have been listening to alot more KoRn lately (Woot Sixty). So if you guys have suggestions let me know.

First Thoughts On GTA IV
Now I only played probably a half hour of GTA but I already have a few concerns. Now the graphics look great, totally an improvement. I always thought that the GTA games were good but the graphics have always been more on a cartoony style. This game takes it the more realistic way but still looks like a cartoon more than real. Anyway. My major concern is the camera. Now I have never played GTA on anything but the PS2 so maybe I am just a little jaded but Damn I am having trouble. Now driving itself is different yes but not extremely hard to learn, but my gripe is A) you have to steer your car, B) you have to give your car gas or brake, and C) you have to control the camera while driving, all at the same time. I'm finding this extremely frustrating. Now I did get better over the half hour so I'm hoping the game just has a learning curve and then I will be fine. Even walking around I am having fits with the camera. I feel as if I am always fighting the camera. Now I really hope I'm just doing something wrong or like I said it does have a learning curve, because if it stays the way it is, its to hard to enjoy the game. I'm more annoyed than anything, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if its just getting used to the new controls.
Again I probably should have played a little more before I judge but I figured a beginners thoughts would not hurt.
Note: I finally watched Hitman and was a little disappointed. My fiancee really enjoyed it but I just was expecting more. Don't get me wrong, I was totally entertained but I was hoping for more of what I thought the game was. Stealth and disguises. Agent 47 being a quiet person, a cold person I expected. Now I know a movie needs dialogue, but I thought 47 talked to much. Also the script was really bad, corny at times. And a freak and random sword fight was a little out of place I thought. Also I noticed a lot of sound dubbing issues. A few times I saw the actor say one thing but I hear something else. That bugged me. Beforehand I didn't like Timothy Olyphant playing 47 but he really wasn't that bad, I thought someone older would be better but I found myself liking him. The problem again was the script. Not great. But still at the end of the day I'm glad I own it, I love the series and the movie was not terrible.

Game Review: Crackdown
Positive
- Very, very addicting. Rooftop leaping has never been more fun.
- I liked how you could chose between a few different looking characters.
- Physics. The game had very fun physics. For example: I'm on a rooftop and I see an agility orb pretty far away on a pipe. Now in my head I'm thinking that there is no way that I will be able to land on that tiny pipe from this far away. But way more times than not, you will land wherever you want. The game makes it feel like you really have to try to land there as well, it doesn't feel like the game does it for you, which is good.
- I liked finding the agility orbs. To be honest, at times I enjoyed just running around looking for them more than the actual main story.
- I liked being able to raise your skills by using them over and over again. Little RPG element there I guess.
- Game was pretty good size, not huge, but big enough.
- Enjoyed how there were ledges everywhere to grab onto so it wasn't extremely hard to find a way onto a roof.
- Good variety of guns.
Negative
- Camera was horrible at times.
- Total lack of things to do after you beat the main game.
- REALLY, really short.
- Didn't like how by the time you leveled up most of your stats the main game was over.
- Bugged me that the enemies would continuously spawn until you killed the General.
- Some of the guns to me seemed to just be put in the game to make it seem like there were alot of guns, I only used maybe 4 different guns the entire game.
- Driving was not as sharp as it could have been.
- No side missions besides foot races and car races.
So my verdict is...I'm still glad I bought Crackdown. Only spent 16$ on it and it was worth that. It mixed elements of GTA with Spiderman to make a totally innovative game that yes could have been more polished but still is crazy addictive. I still have that empty, incomplete feeling towards crackdown but it will pass.
Note: Heard that the new Call of Duty will be named World at War is you guys didn't know. It's gonna be set back in WWII which worries me but they can't mess it up right? With how successful Modern Warfare was, they wouldn't mess with the game too much and risk screwing up that perfect blend would they? Also I'm not sure the same ppl will be developing it. Infinity Ward made Modern Warfare right? Pretty sure that's the developers, if not oh well. But also heard that it will have Co-Op which is awesome.

Few New Things
- Reno 911 (First Season) - Ok now I have always liked Reno 911 to a point. It was never a favorite but always thought it was funny. Found it for pretty cheap for a whole season so what the heck. Also my brother is a cop so I've always wanted to show him this show and how it spoofs Cops.
- Dawn of the Dead/Land of the Dead - Ok I found this in a combo pack the other day and passed on it for some reason. I love Dawn of the Dead but wasn't sure about the other. So after a quick talk with Shep I decided to get it. Thanks Shep.
- Crackdown - Finally bought another game for my 360. Have always wanted to play Crackdown and have heard good things about it so, fingers crossed.
- Sweeney Todd - Now I have Sweeney Todd in the mail on its way here but decided to go ahead and add it. I Love this movie. Not a huge musical fan but Damn, this one was pretty great, prolly because of the dark nature of the movie.
- The Shield (Season 1) - Ok for anyone who doesn't know, The Shield is my favorite show ever. It comes on FX and it in the run with Nip Tuck, Rescue Me, things like that. This show is amazing. I strongly recommend watching it if you haven't.

Movie Review: The Sentinel
Micheal Douglas plays Pete Garrison, a legendary secret service agent who in the past took a bullet for Ronald Reagan. Garrison learns from a former informant that there is a plan to assassinate the now President Ballentine. Garrison is convinced that a Neo-Nazi Aryan Disciple has infiltrated the White House. After a secret service agent is killed, Garrison is framed as the killer. To make matters worse, Garrison is secretly having an affair with the First Lady played by Kim Basinger, and the real killer is using that information to blackmail Garrison. Garrison now has to prove his innocence while he is on the run from his own kind.
Kiefer Sutherland plays as David Breckinridge, a protege' of Garrisons. His new partner Jill Marin (Eva Longoria) begins her job the very day that they start investigating Garrison.
As you progress through the movie you learn of the strained relationship between Garrison and Breckinridge. Another very good part of the movie is that Garrison is a crafty veteran when it comes to the tactics that the secret service uses to try and catch him. He knows all their tricks and knows how they think.
The Sentinel sat on my DVD rack for a couple of years before I decided to give it a try. I was very impressed. The movie was very polished and never forced. The story keeps your attention while your trying to figure out the real mole. Some may figure it out early (I Did) but others may have to wait longer to really decide who the mole is.
So my verdict? Gotta check this one out. If you find it cheap, Buy it. I'm glad to have it in my collection. Very entertaining, especially since I was not expecting it to be good at all.
Note: My next review will be of The Rock with Nicolas Cage. Have you guys seen it? Really don't want to do one on a movie that everyone has seen. Let me know guys.

Challenge
So a good friend of mine the other day came to me and we had a very serious talk. His life has taken a few really bad turns lately and he just needed someone to talk to, and in my inner circle I'm usually that guy that will just sit and listen.
During the conversation he asked me a question that I have never really thought about.
What's made you the person that you are today?
Now I've never sat back and thought about what in my life has made me how I am but it really intrigued me.
So my challenge to you guys is just the same thing. What or who has made you the person that you are today? Be cool in a video or a blog, either way. You can do it in a list if there are many different things that would help show who you are. It's really a open forum for you guys, no rules, can be anything that you want it to be.
If it doesn't sound appealing don't worry about it. I wonder if I am the only one who for some reason took that question to heart, but oh well.
Note: You can always have negative aspects of you as well. I couldn't help but think of my negative characteristics and where they came from so feel free to do them if your comfortable with it, if not, totally not my business.

Movie Review: 3:10 To Yuma
So I just finished watching 3:10 to Yuma with my fiancee'. And all I can say is "Wow," I was really, really surprised. Now let it be known that I'm not a huge fan of westerns but do enjoy a select few of them. I was not expecting to be into this one as much as I was.
Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) is a legendary outlaw that terrorizes the state of Arizona with his gang. Dan Evans (Christian Bale) is a struggling, poor rancher who is an amputee from a war some years back. Evans is having a land dispute with the a man that basically owns the whole area that is worth owning. One day when Evans has his barn burned down for not handing over his land his cattle gets out and he brings his two sons along to help round them up. On the way to doing the job, they run onto a cliff overlooking Wade's gang robbing a stage coach carrying the new railroads payroll. Wade's gang kills all but one man and Evans helps the man by taking him into the nearby town of Bisbee.
Ends up that Wade and his boys came into town and with Evan's help, they capture Wade and Evans volunteers for 200 dollars to escort him with 4 other men to the 3:10 to Yuma. Now the 3:10 to Yuma basically is a train that runs at 3:10 and takes prisoners to the Yuma prison.
After Wade is captured his boys follow closely now led by Charlie Prince who is played by Ben Foster. Anyone remember the Disney show Flash Forward? Well thats the guy, anyways. Maybe I'm the only one that remembers that show. So the events that follow I won't get into to save you the meat of the movie.
I loved the cast for this movie. Crowe and Bale are both AMAZING. Crowe is a smug outlaw that always has a smirk on his face and is actually comical. Bale was my favorite because he made you feel sad for him being poor and sad for how his kids looked at him sometimes. The internal battle Bale's character has to cope with is also a huge selling point for 3:10 to Yuma.
Final verdict....BUY THIS MOVIE. If not buy, its a must rent. Trust me, I highly doubt you would be disappointed.

More DVD's
First I bought We Own The Night, I really wanted to see it beforehand anyway and after Shep gave it a thumbs up so to speak I knew it was worth it to buy. So I got it for 4.99.
I also bought Michael Clayton with George Clooney. I remember hearing from a few people that they though this movie should have won best movie last year instead of No Country For Old Men. And if its half as good as it was, then it was a wise purchase.
Note: I also had my damn hands on Dawn of the Dead but passed on it. I have really been wanting it and it was 7.99 at Gamestop but decided to wait. They have a pretty cool deal where you buy 2 dvd's and get 2 free. The only movie I was really interested in was D.O.T.D. so I thought it was smart to just save the movie for when they get a few more that I'm interested in.
Been thinking of doing more movie reviews and am needing some ideas for ones to do. So let me know guys.

Movie Review: Running Scared
Paul Walker plays as Joey Gazelle, who is basically a clean up man for the mob. After a drug operation goes wrong and a dirty cop dies, the mob gives Joey the job of disposing the gun that killed the cop. Now instead of throwing the gun in the river, Joey hides the snub-nosed .38 in a secret compartment in his basement. What Joey doesn't know is that his son Nicky and best friend Oleg were down there and now have seen Joey putting the gun away.
Oleg lives in a abusive home where his russian father has a sick obsession with John Wayne. When Oleg's father Anzor beats his mother one night, he runs and steals the gun that Joey hid. Oleg shoots his father and runs away. After this all hell breaks loose. Now Anzor, who ends up being a key part in the russian mob has his goons chasing and looking for Oleg, while the mob with Joey is now looking for the kid as well. Apart from that, now Joey needs to find the kid and the gun before the two mob branches do.
This is a really good movie, especially if you know nothing about it. The best thing I like about the movie is the camera angles that the director uses. There are many creative camera elements that make the movie stand out. If you have not seen or heard of this movie, give it a shot, it's very entertaining and intense.

Been Busy
Now I know most of you have already played these games but I still thought a review would be ok.
Also note that I have played these games before but this time I had Xbox Live, so that changes things.
Call Of Duty4: The great thing about this game is that there is SO much to do. Now the single player campaign is short some say but I found it just fine. After the whole career mode I got on Live and had a blast. There is endless fun in playing real people with real ever changing strategies. There is also something to unlock from new guns to new accessories to perks. So there is a ton to do. Graphics are amazing. One note of that I notices was when you have a sniper rifle you can see a reflection in your scope from whats behind you, amazing touch.
Halo 3: I still have yet to beat Halo on single player. The bulk of me playing was with my step brother when we played Co-Op. That was really enjoyable player side by side. We got on Live to play people but honestly there were not many people on the Doubles network or whatever it is. Halo is fun and it is a change of pace from CoD, but still.......its not Call Of Duty.
Oblivion: Now Oblivion could honestly be my favorite game ever. Its huge. So much to do and unlock (which I love). I love games that give you the most for your dollar. The free open world is great and the graphics (except for some peoples faces) are amazing. I can't stop playing it sometimes and I swear I'm burning my brain, I can feel it. Hours and hours have gone by mindlessly playing Oblivion and still I have barely made a dent in this huge game. GO BUY IT. Only 30 bucks brand new.

Movie Review: The Lookout
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Chris, a promising high school hockey player, who on prom night gets a little wild with his friends and they have a very serious car accident. The accident leaves Chris with severe brain damage and he has trouble remember the most simple things. So he carries around a notepad and writes everything down. His life has spiraled downward and now he is living with his blind friend Lewis, played by Jeff Daniels (great job), and gets money from his rich father.
Chris can't have a real job so he works as a night time janitor for a bank in the middle of nowhere. Simple things for his struggling, simple mind. He meets a guy named Gary at a bar that basically befriends him and promises him everything that he has lost. A girl, friends, money. Sooner or later Gary tells him that him and his friends are gonna rob a bank. Chris realizes that that's what he is there for, a way in. Chris hesitates until Gary gives him a short talk about how Chris could be independent if he had his own money. Chris agrees to help them.
During the robbery, Chris' conscience kicks in and the meat of the movie ensues.
The Lookout is a great movie for those who have not seen it. For everyone reading this, take my advice and at least see this movie once.

It's A Girl
Well guys...It's a girl. We just found out this morning. Actually we are totally surprised. My entire family is ALL boys except for 3 girls. So needless to say most were assuming another boy. It's actually better this way, its something new in the family. But great now I have to be the hugely over protective father, ha. It's a hard feeling to describe, I mean we have known that we are having a baby for a while but to finally know what it is takes it to a whole new level. I gotta say when I found out she was a girl (she now, no more "its", Yay) I smiled so much that it hurt. Its an amazing, indescribable feeling.
Hard as it is to believe, the doc said that she isn't sucking her thumb, so explain that one to me. That's her, my daughter, September 4, that's when shes here so can't wait.
Note: Shep, did you feel the earthquake any today, this morning? I can't remember where in Ohio you live and was wondering if you were close enough. Anyways, I was, bout near knocked me outta bed at around 5:30 ha.
Alright guys that's all for me today, been a crazy, crazy day, I'm beat. Later
Another Note: Sorry about the white border around the pic, I should have trimmed off the white area, but oh well.

Movie Review: The Mist
The movie starts with David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his family getting into their storm cellar after a freak storm passes through their small Maine town. After the storm is over a freak Mist is seen in the distance, but they think nothing of it. Drayton and his son go into the city to get groceries to stock pile up for the lack of electricity. While in the store a man runs into the store and yells a somewhat cliche' sounding line of "There's something in the mist." And so begins the drama. The trapped shoppers split into 2 camps: those who believe it is an act of a vengeful god who demands human sacrifice and those don't. A crazy lady played by Marcia Gay Harden preaches that God is angry with how the human race has acted and needs sacrifices. Most don't believe her at first but then more into the movie, the things that happen coincide with what she is saying. The division between the two groups of people turns violent on more than one occasion.
All I know is that I never was bored or restless during The Mist. It kept my attention and to me was surprisingly good. I was terribly afraid of how they would make the creatures look because I knew that if there were horrible that that would be the end of the movie to me. But they never bothered me very much. This is a scary movie but has a light comedy feel at times. I found myself laughing many times during the movie. The end was great to me. My fiancee HATED it but I really enjoyed it. I think she hated it because it wasn't a typical movie ending that we are all used to, but that's exactly why I loved it. I never saw it coming. This is definitely at least a rent for you guys. I will have this in my collection soon. Give The Mist a shot and you may just be like me, someone who was somewhat interested but had heard a few negative things and actually turned out really enjoying the movie.
Note: Again I'm gonna take the time to thank Shepdawg25 for his ustream last night. We all knew he was tired but he got on anyway. Really appreciate it man.

Ramble, Ramble
I may do a review for The Mist next for Sixty while the movie is still fresh on my mind.
I've gotten back into reading a whole lot more lately. I've always been a big reader. I bought 2 new books: I Am Legend and I wanted The Mist and found it but found Stephen King's Skeleton Crew which had The Mist and 21 other short stories and 2 poems and it was only a dollar more so that was a no brainer. I love to read and I can read VERY fast (swear it runs in the family) but sometimes I feel that all the books that I say are my favorites are all the same genre, some even kiddy. Oh well, like what you like right?
OK so two questions I have for you guys. First, do you like the books better or the movies that portray them? And Why? I ask this because I read Stardust two days before watching the movie and the book was SO much better. The movie was good and all but I LOVED the book. So much was left out of the movie. But as far as I know that's how every movie goes, leaving out so much.
And second, I was sitting and wondering the other day what makes a great game great to me? So I wanna know what makes a game good to you guys? I love games where you can grow your character (Oblivion) and also depth is a must for me. So let me now your guys opinion.

Elite
So the last week I've watched quite a few new movies. I just watched Ocean's Thirteen. I've seen Sweeney Todd (very good), Enchanted (with fiancee..eh), The Mist (actually really enjoyed it), and Superbad. I was kinda disappointed in Superbad to be honest. It was funny and entertaining but the whole trying to get laid thing is so old by now. I loved Knocked Up and was expecting that from Superbad. Still, I'm glad to have it in my collection. I know alot of ppl like it so Oh well to each his own I guess. HA doesn't make us not friends now does it?
Anyways I really have nothing else to talk about....OH, I have been reading a new book. Hitman. Its a really good book. I love the games, and haven't seen the movie yet. The book is a very good read for all the readers out there. Later guys

Movie Review: Inside Man
The movie is about 4 people dressed as painters who hold up a bank in Manhattan. Detective Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) is a negotiator and has his own skeletons in his closet at the time of the movie. Clive Owen plays Dalton Russell, the leader of the robbers. Owen plays a game of cat and mouse with the police and delays them from doing anything to stop the robbery. The 4 robbers have about 50 hostages and use them in VERY useful ways. Jodie Foster plays Madeliene White, a sort of Mrs. Fix-it to certain situations. She is hired by the owner of the bank to retrieve something hidden in one of the lock boxes inside the bank. So she tries to convince the police to let her in the bank and "resolve" the situation.
This movie really surprised me. It was so smart at times, and even as a viewer it kept me off balance as to what exactly was happening. Clive Owen was very good in Inside Man. The mixture of real time moments mixed with moments in the future keeps you guessing the entire movie. I recommend this movie strongly, especially if you find it for 4.99 like me. you will most likely go into watching this movie expecting one thing, but at the end it completely flip flops on you. Go buy it..and enjoy.

Been Thinking
Anyways I have been trying to sell my drum set for like ever now and I finally hope I have a serious buyer. If they dont end up buying them my fiancee and her family are having a huge yard sale type thing this saturday and hopefully I can sell them there. It's insane the number of ppl that come to those things. So I've been unpacking boxes and shoe boxes full of old stuff trying to find stuff I dont mind selling.
I been thinking, I still dont have a next gen console. Ha I bought CoD 4 when I found it on sale one day at the store b/c i plan on having a 360. But lately I have been worrying about whether to get a 360 or save a little more and get a PS3. I have never bought a Microsoft console, I've always stuck with Sony and not until recently have I even considered getting a PS3. I've heard so many problems with the 360 and that worries me. I can't be throwing my money around on something like that, that I cant rely on. I dont have that kind of cash. I absolutely love the 360 library, but the two main games I wanted were CoD4 (which i have...for the 360) and Oblivion. Now I could get both of those for the PS3 so i dunno anymore. I also really love Xbox Live and that is a big selling point to. So any words of advice? I'm still leaning towards the 360 mainly b/c i have heard that they have fixed the RRoD thing so....? What do you guys think? Later
